Hungary hosts yet another Olympic qualification event: the FIBA 3×3 Universality Olympic Qualifying Tournament is the last chance for 3×3 teams to grab their spots in the field.

Seyu teams up with FIBA to provide fans with a remote opportunity to cheer for their favourite players and teams in the last event of the Olympic qualification tournament series. Those who cannot attend the event live will be able to send pictures with personal messages, appearing on the giant LED screen next to the court during gameplay and breaks as well. Seyu’s app is free to download from all app stores, and enables everyone to send their selfies through smartphones. Thanks to Seyu, sport-lovers from all over the world can join the games and express their support even from thousands of miles away.

This time, the joy of cheering will unite with a unique giveaway! A few lucky winners will be randomly selected among the participants to receive gift packages, including a 3×3 basketball and 3×3 Debrecen T-shirts. To enter, you only have to send a selfie of you cheering through Seyu’s app. Once it is approved for display, it will automatically qualify the user for the prizes.

The event will take place in Debrecen’s Kossuth square on a freshly assembled, mobile street court. The 11 participating countries are Ukraine, Belgium, the Netherlands, Estonia, Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Chinese-Taipei, Mongolia, Romania and Iran. The games start this Friday at 18:00, after the opening ceremony at 17:15. The games will last throughout the entire weekend: after pool play the winners of each group qualify to the semi-finals, and the second-, and third-finishing teams will play against their opposite opponents from the other pool in the quarter-finals. The bracket will be single-elimination, and only the ultimate winners get a spot in the Olympic field.

Both Hungarian teams will have a chance to win the tickets to Tokyo. Hungarian ladies will hit the court at 19:30 on Friday, up against the Netherlands, and just an hour later against the Estonian team. Our team managed to win against these opponents in the previous tournaments, so there’s great hope for victory this time too. The male team starts on Saturday, at 19:30 against Romania and 20:35 against Mongolia. The trio’s chances are higher, as teams like Latvia, Poland and the Netherlands all qualified during the previous tournaments. Finals of the tournament are scheduled at 19:30 on Sunday.
